Broederliefde is the unique story of a group of friends from Spangen who completely conquered the Netherlands with their exceptional mix of hip-hop and Caribbean dance music. In addition to numerous awards, gold/platinum records and (sold-out) performances in Ahoy and the Sparta stadium, among others, the Rotterdam-based group secured the Dutch record for the longest at No. 1 album (14 weeks) with Hard Work Pays Off 2 (2016) as the crown on their CV.
Broederliefde consists of childhood friends Emms, Jerr, Sjaf, Mella and Edson, who after their dream of becoming professional soccer players expired, decided to start making music together. And with success. The different cultural backgrounds (Cape Verdean, Dominican, Antillean) within the group are at the base of
their characteristic sound that they have managed to perfect over the years. The fact that over the years Broederliefde has built up one of the most loyal and widely supported fan bases in the Netherlands was evidenced by the fact that in 2020 they were awarded the FunX Music Award for 'Best Group' for the 6th time in a row.
