The very young Froukje broke through in 2020. She is known for her quirky style and songwriting, and she is certainly not averse to taboos in the process. So by now you can't ignore her, but you can book her for your party!

Dutch singer Froukje Veenstra broke through in 2020, in the midst of the Corona crisis, with her debut single "Groter Dan Ik." In it she sings:

''Happy new year the world is on fire
And I'd like to put it out
But the fire is bigger than me''

With lyrics like these, she manages to address social issues such as feminism and climate change in an approachable way. Her lyrics can be described as honest and always sharp. Froukje draws inspiration from fellow artists such as Maarten van Roozendaal, Theo Nijland, Eefje de Visser, Typhoon and Stromae.

In April 2021, Froukje won the 3FM Talent Award. In 2022, she performed at several major festivals including Pinkpop, Pukkelpop, Best Kept Secret, Concert at Sea and Lowlands. She also performed at a sold-out AFAS Live on October 15, 2022. In December 2022, she participated in StukTV's online television show Het Jachtseizoen. In January 2024, Froukje released her debut album Noodzakelijk verdriet. In short, in recent years Froukje has certainly not been idle and by now it is impossible to imagine the Dutch music scene without her!
