Please allow me to introduce myself...

My name is Wijnand and I grew up in a house where music was always central. From an early age the sounds of swing and jazz filled our living room and at parties there was always live music to be found, often provided by my family. When I was twelve I started playing the piano and was taught by a jazz teacher. Singing lessons soon followed, as I wanted to accompany myself on piano while singing.

I really come from a musical nest; my father was a musician and also my brothers, sisters and even my mother all have their own musical talents. This environment provided the perfect breeding ground for me to walk my own musical path and develop myself.

On my way to adulthood, I played and sang in various cover bands for many years, where I gained valuable experience in the music world. I participated in talent shows and won awards for my solo singing and piano accompaniment.

But the real turning point came in the 1980s, when I was asked to be a keyboard player and singer with the band Terrific in Rotterdam. This was a fantastic opportunity for me, since they focused mainly on jazz, swing, fusion and pop music, exactly the genre where my heart was and still is. With said band I was able to develop myself musically, instrumentally and vocally to the fullest. At that time we mainly performed for large, well-known booking offices and gave performances at beautiful parties and corporate events, in the Netherlands but also, for example, in Germany and Austria.

During more than 25 years with the band Terrific I had the privilege to accompany artists like Lee Towers, René Froger, Joke Bruijs and Gerard Cox. We were even the regular accompaniment band of Lee Towers in Rotterdam for several years. Highlights included performances in the VIP area of Ahoy Rotterdam for eight of Lee Towers' evening concerts and in Lee Towers' posh club at Scheveningen.

After a long and fruitful career with the band Terrific, I felt the urge to take a solo path. I started singing from my heart, performing songs I grew up with, inspired by greats like Frank Sinatra, Tom Jones & Lou Rawls. And later especially artists like Michael Bublé and Lionel Richie. With my own light and sound system and my own sound man Kent, I now perform solo, with a repertoire that is a mix of timeless classics and contemporary hits, suitable for any occasion. Dutch music will also not be missing.

With my broad repertoire, charismatic performances and years of experience, I know how to turn any occasion into an unforgettable musical experience. I look forward to sharing my passion for music with you and transforming your event into a true celebration.

Ballads and up-tempo pieces by Frank Sinatra, Tony Bennett, Nat King Cole, Michael Bublé, Lou Rawls, Tom Jones, Stevie Wonder, Robbie Williams, Engelbert Humperdinck, Charles Aznavour, among others, Jazz & Wine will be happy to perform for you. For a wide variety, the Dutch Repertoire is certainly not forgotten, such as songs by André Hazes, Lee Towers, Wim Sonneveld, Wim Koopmans and Gerard Cox. Even for the older music lover among us I sing medleys from the early days of Eddie Christiani.

Jazz & Wine comes with 1 performer and a light/sound man.

Jazz & Wine sings live with a backing track/orchestral tape where therefore the advantage is that little space is taken up for the P.A installation, lights and for the sound man because no further musical instruments need to be set up.

Jazz & Wine has its own sound system and lighting and likes to perform at different types of parties. Preferably intimate and small but of course also the larger parties up to a maximum of +/- 100 persons. This both for indoor and outdoor locations.

The price for the act includes light and sound system and the sound man. Travel expenses are also included.
