Encontro shows a fusion of the enchanting melodies of the violin and the awe-inspiring artistry of fire and staff manipulations. Two expressive, distinct art forms, woven into a story and shown with passion and emotion.

In a unique way, we perform a duet in which violin and fire manipulations come together,
The setting of this act is cozy, elegant and minimalist.

Neither the fire nor the music is the focus here, we focus on the interplay, emotions and passion with which we want to convey the story to you.

You will see highly technical staff manipulations (1 to 5 staffs) and you will travel through multiple layers of musical complexity. Each note resonates with deep meaning as we honor the remarkable work of Phillip Glass and Max Richter.

Encontro is derived from the elegant Portuguese language and means a meaningful encounter or connection.

Important:

- Self-supply music system and lighting system
- Encontro is performed with a wooden electric violin that is connected wirelessly to our installation
- Upon request, we will provide you with our information sheet containing all necessary details.
- Because of the limitations to play the violin in cold temperatures, our outdoor performance is only available from April to October. For a last minute booking in that period when the minimum temperature is not below 10 degrees celsius is also possible.

Who we are:

Inês Bastos:
Raised in Portugal, Inês is a Professional violinist with a master's degree in classical music and 23 years of experience. She currently enjoys engaging herself in new projects and teaching her international students.

Dean Terneu:
Raised in Belgium, Dean has lived in Thailand since 2017 where he first encountered fire shows. Through a fiery passion, this has grown into a passionate profession by bringing quality performances and teaching workshops.
