Who embodied the connection between the 70s, 80s and 90s by continuously innovating and was at the forefront of pop music and pop art for decades? David Bowie! Even with his latest masterpiece Blackstar, he managed to surprise again.
David Bowie is regarded worldwide as one of the most influential rock musicians of the past century. He conquered the world with countless world hits - including collaborations with Queen, Mick Jagger and Tina Turner - and left a lasting impression with his eccentric images, especially in the glam rock period of the 1970s.

As the Netherlands' longest existing David Bowie tribute band, Ground Control has guaranteed an intense live experience with high authenticity for over 10 years. Ground Control performs a wide range of songs from Bowie's rich legacy, including both the big hits and his most iconic and meaningful songs: Space Oddity, Changes, Ziggy Stardust, Rebel Rebel, Heroes, Let's Dance, China Girl, Under Pressure, Absolute Beginners, This Is Not America, and, of course, Lazarus from his final days.
With Ries de Wit as lead singer - who has "lived" Bowie since his early childhood - Ground Control performs a tribute that goes beyond imitation. With his unique voice and authentic performance, Ries knows how to convincingly bring Bowie's soul to life. Supported by atmospheric visuals featuring Bowie's iconic characters, the band creates a unique, nostalgic journey through the musical legacy of a true icon.

Ground Control plays a full-length program with a complete Bowie show of 2 sets, lasting about 2.5 hours. Also possible is a 'festival' set of approx. 1 hour, containing mainly his hits.
