SeptNoir is a Modern Jazz Trio which plays mostly its own work, but can also be hired for background jazz at various events.
SeptNoir is a modern Jazz Trio, formed at the Utrecht Conservatory of Music. The trio consists of Jonas Hormann on piano, Matija Mitrovic on bass and Damian de Muijnck on drums. After a successful start with performances in the main hall of Tivolivredenburg, Le Guess Who Festival, ZeelandJazz and Ujazz Festival, among others, the trio is busy producing more of their own work. Soon, therefore, they will also release their first EP. The trio mixes influences of greats like Avishai Cohen, Shai Maestro, Mark Guiliana Jazz Quartet, Tigran Hamasyan, Lyle Mays and Brad Mehldau with their own musical background. The result brings intense interplay, surprising and complex rhythms mixed with adventurous and rich harmonies and a clear story to the audience.
