Paul Morris (29), born and raised in Caracas (Venezuela) as the child of a Dutch mother and Venezuelan father. Energetic singer, repertoire English-language pop/dance with Latin influences. Own repertoire and covers from Harry Styles, Sam Smith to Jessie J, Ariane Grande.

As a child he was already fascinated by singing and dancing just like his cousin Rolf Sanchez. Deciding to leave Venezuela for the Netherlands ten years ago, Paul is determined to follow his dream and starts studying Performing Arts in Amsterdam with the goal of an international career as a pop artist.

In 2019, the ball starts rolling and he enters the TV show DanceSing, a talent show where the creators are looking for a pop star who can both sing and dance. With his performances of Stay With Me (Sam Smith) and Despacito (Luis Fonsi ft Daddy Yankee), he makes it to the finals and his videos are watched by hundreds of thousands of people, a great start.

Despite barely being able to work in the 2020-2022 period, Paul Morris released a Spanish adaptation of Davina Michelle's hit Duurt te lang last year. Also released in early 2022 was the song Cada Ritmo (Sweet Dreams) a collaboration by Paul with Stephen Oaks, Emy Perez and Daddy Yankee.

Paul also signed a contract for a large number of shows on the Greek island of Mykonos. But then disaster struck. The night before his birthday he has an accident with his scooter. The consequences are serious because in addition to a battered face, bruises and broken teeth, he also has a jaw fracture. Fortunately, he recovers quickly and is happy with the angel on his shoulder.

Paul, who has always been open about his orientation, will be at the closing party at De Dam of Amsterdam Pride for the first time in 2019. For someone who grew up in a country where macho culture prevails and same-sex marriage is still illegal, Amsterdam Pride made a big impression. Paul therefore said a resounding yes when he was asked to be a Pride ambassador in 2022. He released the single Hide My Love and could be seen and heard on all stages during the week of Pride Amsterdam with his own show and the message he wanted to share as ambassador.

Paul, in addition to his work as lead singer of the band This is Beethoven, is currently working on new music that he writes himself in collaboration with other composers and lyricists. From December 23, Paul can be seen in the AVROTROS program Op Zoek Naar.... This program searches for the leads Danny & Sandy for the musical Grease in 2023.

Paul loves that through his music he can warm hearts and make people dance and enjoy life. But just as important to him is keeping the conversation about sexuality and freedom going.
