Hello, I am a mezzo-soprano and flutist from Hong Kong. I can sing classical (opera, oratorio, art songs), musical and pop&jazz styles. I can arrange a pianist and other instrumentalists to perform together for you upon discussion. The price here does not include the fees for the pianist and instrumentalists, only for my singing part. For pop singing, I can sing and accompany myself on the piano.

Ariel Sin Yu Lee is a mezzo-soprano and flutist from Hong Kong with extensive performing experience. She obtained her master’s degree in voice at the HKU Utrecht Conservatory in 2019. Ariel is an active performer with a broad muscial and theatrical interest and.

Ariel can provide singing performances with a pianist and other instrumentalists in the styles of classical, musical and pop&jazz styles. The programme can be tailor made to meet your needs.

Ariel currently sings in professional vocal ensembles in the Netherlands including Nederlands Reis Opera chorus, Consensus Vocalis and Immix vocal ensemble. Immix vocal ensemble consists of 9 young singers from the talent development programme (NKK NXT) of the Netherlands Chamber Choir in the 2020-2021 edition. Projects of the ensemble in 2022 include the “De Wildernis” tour with Wende Snijders, “Dear Professor Einstein” produced by the Netherlands Chamber Choir, and the musical theater production “Metamoorfose”.

Ariel is also the singer and co-founder of the artist collective Fire is Scary. The collective presents new original music with visual arts and theater elements. Fire is Scary is supported by funds from the Netheralnds, South Korea and Switzerland for their performances, album release and artistic research.

Ariel’s major vocal solo performances include: Handel’s “Messiah” in 2017 by Cantabile Limited in Hong Kong; the roles of second woman and second witch with the Hong Kong Philharmonic in Purcell’s “Dido and Aeneas” under tha baton of Benjamin Bayl in 2017; finalist of Storioni Willem Twee Chamber music Competition in s-Hertogenbosch in 2018; soloist of the talent opera “To Plant Again” in the Opera Forward Festival by the Dutch National Opera in 2019; the alto soloist in the Remembrance Day Concert with SV Hucbald Choir in Utrecht in 2021.

As a flutist, currently Ariel mostly gives private concerts in the Netherlands and works as a session musician. Recently she collaborated with the Dutch hip hop artist Sor in the track “Caught up” from the album “Bae Doven” released in May 2022.
