We’re a fun carnival party act known for our hoempapa, humor, and—above all—lots of sing-alongs. With our playful lyrics, familiar melodies, and catchy music, we make sure the audience doesn’t stand still for long.

Our repertoire consists of a mix of original songs with playful lyrics and well-known sing-alongs, all performed in our own signature Taverneboys hoempapa style.

We’ll take you along to the Munne Zuipfiest, catch the Kouwe Klauwe, turn things upside down with “Roze Bril,” and ask He Nel: “Why don’t you ring the bell?” ?

Of course, “Strakke Karolien”—our own carnival-style parody of “Sweet Caroline”—is a must-have. It’s a song where the entire room is soon singing along to the chorus.

But in addition to our own songs, we’ve also got quite a few recognizable classics in our setlist. Think, for example, of *Kleine Café aan de Haven*, *'t Dondert en het Bliksemt*, and *Laat de Zon in je Hart*. All well-known songs, but done entirely in the Taverneboys hoempapa style.

And for fans of the real old-school tunes, we have a delightful “Van vruuger” medley, featuring songs like “Alle Hendjes,” “Keukendeur,” “Bloemetjesgordijn,” and “Wa ’n lekker ding bende gij.” Nostalgia guaranteed—and, of course, perfect for getting the whole room to join in! ?

We’re also currently putting the finishing touches on a waltz: “Inhaken en Meedeinen – Zo is ’t Leven.” A song for everyone to join in, sway along to, and sing along with. ??

In short: with the Taverneboys, you get a mix of our own playful songs, well-known classics, sing-alongs, and old-fashioned hoempapa. All in our own style and with just one goal: to throw a party and make sure the polonaise doesn’t disappear from the streets!

DeTaverneboys,

Because Carnival without a polonaise… that’s a bit like beer without foam!
