Parisian Romanticism meets American Jazz

The band uses the musical foundation consisting of rhythm guitar and double bass, as in the Hot Club de France style from the 1930s-40s of guitarist Django Reinhardt (also known as Gipsy Jazz). The Hot Club Quartet therefore pays tribute to this style, but mixed with influences from later genres. Besides the typical swing, musette and chansons, they also alternate with styles such as Bossa Nova, Bebop and Funk. To give an idea: major inspirations include the Rosenberg Trio, Edith Piaf, Jean Sablon, Jobim, Chet Baker and Wes Montgomery. The philosophy is that the music should be swinging, spontaneous and danceable. Also, the sound is acoustic; no effects but just the authentic sound of the instruments. This makes the music pure and understandable.

The band has already performed on several festival stages but also lends itself to events, weddings and dance venues (e.g. Lindy Hop). Depending on composition and repertoire, both foreground and background atmosphere can be created.

The group consists of a core line-up with guitarist Jaïr, accordionist Tim, guitarist Evgenios and bassist Jan but this is regularly supplemented by the vocals of Francesca.

The indicated price is based on a quartet performance of 90 minutes (e.g. 2x45 min). Changes in composition or number of sets are possible. The band can be expanded to a quintet or sextet including vocals, violin, sax, drums or clarinet. A smaller, more intimate line-up, such as just guitar and vocals, is also possible. For performances outside the Randstad a travel allowance applies.
