Singer Richard is an all-round singer who is always 150% committed. With a repertoire of songs from Jan Smit to Dire Straits and from Vader Abraham to UB40, Richard really can sing anything!

The Groningen party singer Richard got the love for music from a young age, his mother had a secret station in the late 70s, where the Dutch song resounded through the living room daily.

In the years that followed Pirate parties were regularly organized where Richard, at a very young age, was already a welcome guest to sing along to the songs that were played at that time. Richard was also often present at many talent shows and won many prizes.

From the age of 10 Richard sang every Saturday in the Groningen shopping center "Paddepoel" as a street singer, and also in those days he was regularly asked for parties and celebrations.

Around the age of 14 Richard stopped performing, not because of "the beard in his throat" like so many others, but because the "world" in which he had been promised a recording dozens of times was not quite what he had imagined it to be. In these years he did not perform anymore, but at the weddings and parties where he appeared, the proverbial blood went where it couldn't go and Richard regularly took the microphone in hand to entertain family, friends and acquaintances.

After working for various "bosses", Richard started his own bar in 1999, and there too he regularly sang "the highest song" and was soon nicknamed "the singing landlord". Of course there were often fellow artists who performed in Richard's pub, and they encouraged him when he decided to sell the pub at the end of 2003 to get back into music.

Meanwhile Richard has become a much sought-after artist in the Groningen catering industry, whether it's a student party, an old people's club or everything in between, Richard always knows how to make a big party out of every performance.
