This musical singer knows how to touch a sensitive chord with her beautiful voice

Es van Velzen was born in Velsen in 1970. She comes from a musical family. Her grandfather Gerrit de Bie was the most musical of them all, he not only sang but also played harmonica. Es noticed her love for singing at a very young age, but her insecurity limited her to singing in the shower. Until five years ago, when she was asked by a friend's sister to come sing at a braderie in Amsterdam. "I thought it was terrifying, but it went so well that I decided to keep going. Soon more gigs followed.

I love Dutch songs, like songs by André Hazes, Django Wagner, Sander Kwarten, Henk Damen, Tony van Boxtel etc... and it all went so well that I decided to record my own song." That became a cover that Roos had already released once in 1980 "The Will of Life". It was launched in 2019. Es ran into Appie Hofstede of Idreampictures and they started a collaboration, resulting in a beautiful clip. The song was released by Richard Pot's Music Experience in, then, Zaandam. He is now in Breda. "Richard has motivated and inspired me to grow even more.

I became more confident and started to believe in myself. Moreover, the song was well received by the audience". Es got a taste for it and started writing a song himself. It became "Enjoy life, Pronto". A nice summer song with a nice beat, easy on the ears. Then she also recorded "Dolores" by Rita Hovink and "Ik doe wat ik doe" by Astrid Nijgh. Then she started to write her own songs again with as a final result the beautiful melancholic song "Als ik naar je kijk", which was launched on April 8, 2022.

Many listeners will recognize themselves in it. This song has been incredibly well received by listeners....

On September 9 followed the swinging song "This tune" and recently ( 27 Feb 2023) the beautiful "If I am with you" was released, whose clip was shot in Tenerife. Es calls herself a life-song singer. "My passion is making music, writing, playing, singing, my head is overflowing with inspiration. Sometimes I don't know where to go with my ideas. I have now bought a groovebox that I am going to work with, to see if I can manage to arrange myself, Es said. I want to make beautiful music, my own arrangements. I want to make music my job. Currently I am a logistics team leader, but I hope to make a living out of music." In the 2004/2005 season, she was surprised by a then-friend. "The program "All you need is love" was on the doorstep with René Froger. 'Together with Rene I sang his song "Here in my heart" in a fantastic professional studio. "How much I enjoyed it."

Es van Velzen wants to enjoy music much more. "I hope everyone will love my music and I want to be on stage all over the country. To become good you have to make flying hours, for me that can't be enough".
