Known from Blood Sweat and Tears. This thousand leg sing the stars from heaven
At your request we always take personal contact to tune together.
Jason Bouman was born in Zeist in 1981 and grew up in Harmelen, where he still lives today. He is married to Samantha and together they have a son named Blaise and 2 daughters named Shego and Blanche.
At the age of seven he asked his father if he could learn to play the harp. His father then told him that it would be better if he learned to play the keyboard, because at that time there was a lot of demand for it. Jason started taking lessons at the music school in Woerden and soon developed into a skilled keyboard player.
Because he couldn't stay away from musical instruments he also taught himself to play bass guitar, guitar and especially
drums.
When Jason was thirteen he started playing in a band called The Melody Stars™. This band mainly played covers of The Shadows, The Beatles and other 60s/70s artists.
A year later he joined The Twillights™, this band played mostly contemporary and Dutch music.
When Jason was 16 years old, he started helping out as a sound engineer building equipment. Within two years he became a professional sound engineer. Not much later he started a band with some fellow musicians. The band would later grow into The Switch Band where Jason took the lead vocals along with a singer, until the band disbanded in 2012.
In 2001 Jason started as an instructor audio-visual techniques at the ROC Midden Nederland in Utrecht which later became the Creative College. Here he became an instructor of audio-visual techniques. During his work at school he worked as a hobby as a sound engineer for various events, bands and artists.
In the spring of 2013 Jason took the plunge and auditioned for the Blood, Sweat and Tears programme. With the song 'Kleine jongen' by André Hazes, he made sure that the jury was convinced of his singing qualities after just a few seconds.
He went on to the elimination rounds where he received the highest number of points in each show from the 100-strong music-loving audience jury, who gave a mark every 15 seconds during the performances. This way he managed to qualify for the last four candidates in the exciting live final on 7 June 2013.
Despite the fact that Jason is a newcomer on the Dutch music market, he managed to win over the voting public at home and became the winner of Bloed, Zweet en Tranen. Besides a beautiful trophy, he also received a record deal with 8ball Music.
In March 2014 he released his album, 'Zomaar Ineens', with 7 own songs and 4 covers. After big performances at the Ziggo Dome, Gelredome and Tros pleinfeesten, Jason is going to Ahoy in March 2015. There he presented his new single "Nobody like you". In 2019 Jason went on theatre tour with his 9 man band and performed over 40 times throughout the Netherlands. In 2021 he recorded "The Sound of Silence" to describe the curfew of the Netherlands during the Corona crisis. Jason will be hitting theaters again in late 2021 with an ode to the Jordaan. Who knows what we can expect?
