McScallywag serves up an explosive, cheerful and exhilarating live act full of sing-alongs, dancing tunes and songs that will take you to the highs and lows of their world
This leads to the rich taste of the Original McScallywag party-punk blend, Distilled and bottled in Groningen.

McScallywag doesn't stick to the existing boundaries of traditional folk, but goes further, by drawing inspiration in their own way from bluegrass, balkan music, punk rock and of course good old drinking songs.
Armed with instruments like banjo, accordion and mandolin they serve up an explosive, cheerful and exhilarating live act full of sing-alongs, dancing tunes and songs that will take you to the highs and lows of their world
This leads to the rich taste of the Original Mc Scallywag party-folk-punk-blend, distilled and bottled in Groningen.

In 2016 they released their first album: "Dirty Water", which was received positively in the folkpunk-scene.
"Dirty Water" is a fantastic whiskey soaked album that banjo and accordion lovers will enjoy". (Celtic Folk Punk, 2016)

In 2020, McScallywag released his second album: "Songs for the Wicked". This too was received with great enthusiasm!
"What a brilliant achievement and what an excellent album!!! " (London Celtic Punks webzine, 2020).

In recent years McScallywag has performed his sweaty, beer-drenched party-folk-punk mix at many Dutch pop venues and festivals, and has opened for the likes of: The Dreadcrew of Oddwood (USA), The Rumjacks (AUS) The Real McKenzies (CA) and Ferocious Dog (UK).
