Tyl writes and plays acoustic, Dutch-language, lyrical songs. Lyrics about everything between life and death, between hope and fear, between wonder and disillusionment with mild compassion for man in all its imperfection.
Sometimes socially eventful, kleinkunstig or light-footed, often wandering along shaded frayed edges.
Listening songs, in which the music (e.g. guitar, harmonica, mandolin, ukulele) always serves the atmosphere, melody and rhythm of the text.
