We are one of the few bands that makes original folk(rock) music, with Dutch (sometimes Limburg) lyrics, straight from the heart, contemporary and current, with the necessary humour and self-mockery. We mainly play our own work but also adaptations of Bruce Springsteen, Mumford&Sons and Fleetwood Mac

The band SIMONS starts to make a name for itself in the region of North and Central Limburg.
The group is built around lead singer, accordionist, lyricist and composer Pieter Simons, (also ex-member of the famous music group Parelmoer) and further consists of Charles van Dommelen,( ex-Mallemoer), bass guitar, harmonica, bagpipes, lambert Bongers, (also guitarist of the Venlo Fleedwoodmac Tribute band), guitar, piano, mandolin, steel guitar, vocals and Wim Kauffman, (Studio Iris, also member of the group ColneyHatch) percussion.

SIMONS makes an attractive mix of alternately touching, humorous, subdued and exuberant songs in Folk(rock) Style. Of the subdued genre the song "n Nieuwe Papa" deserves a special mention here: in striking words it describes in a penetrating way how a child is the victim of an ever-changing father.

"Marjolein" is a cheerful emotional song of praise; this song enjoys wide recognition and can regularly be heard on regional stations. The Dutch and dialect texts were written by Pieter Simons, as was most of the music.
The musicians sing mostly polyphonically.

The songs are praised for their sensitive and satirical texts, their passionate commitment and their warm, compelling music. The musical variations are also striking: from cajun and folk rock to subdued music to listen to. Recently, a mini CD was released by SIMONS, containing 4 appealing songs of a recent date.
