New Moluccan Guitars is a duo consisting of 2 generations of Moluccan jazz guitarists from The Netherlands: Maurice Rugebregt and Rafael Devante Sinay.
Maurice Rugebregt is an in-demand guitarist, both in jazz and Brazilian music. He has worked with Denise Jannah, Laura Fygi, Benjamin Herman and Zuco 103, among others.
Rafael Devante Sinay belongs to the new batch of young jazz guitarists in the Netherlands. He has accompanied Vinchenzo, Johnny de Mol Jr, Dwight Dissels and Ntjam Rosie, among others.
New Moluccan Guitars plays accessible jazz: lyrical standards, Moluccan traditionals with a jazz touch and their own compositions.
The acoustic nylon string guitar and jazz guitar make for a beautiful sound combination that will certainly appeal to non-guitarists as well. The group stands for tasteful melodic ensemble playing with respect for each other's input!
