Exciting world music (Polka's "Balkan, Yiddish, North African but also clog dance with Dutch lyrics about life seen through the eyes of a sailor. A performance of the 4Tuoze Matroze is a real experience!

The line-up of the 4Tuoze Matroze consists of accordion, acoustic bass, acoustic guitar, electric guitar and drums. In recent years, the style of music has come to resemble world music the most. Influences from Ireland, the Balkan, but also from Suriname and North Africa and even the clog dance can be found in the repertoire. But because of the lyrics it all remains very Dutch. The raw marine life, as a metaphor for freedom and loneliness, adventure and the power of nature, can be heard in all the lyrics.

Together they form an extremely attractive performance that is very suitable for music festivals, port events, markets etc. The Sailors are dressed in special sailor uniforms, but not with the intention of "Look at us having fun". The 4Tuoze Sailors are unique in that respect. They are who they are and don't use theatrical tricks to support their performance. They sing honestly from the heart.

The 4Tuoze Sailors are particularly successful in the company circuit because they master the art of entertainment. They can set the atmosphere in the background, but also pay extra attention to people who want to participate interactively. The attendees are tested on their sense of rhyme, rhythm and fish knowledge. But at the public live concerts, the Sailor will do most justice to them. They have the quality to turn every performance into a party. It is therefore more of an experience than a concert. The audience sings along at the top of their voices.

The 4Tuoze Matroze are known as the innovators of the Dutch Song of the Seaman. After their foundation in 1995, they have grown into national and international representatives of the traditional Dutch music culture. The 4Tuoze Matroze play both in the cultural and corporate circuit, with more than 100 performances per year.
