We are the singer and accordionist of the famous band 4Tuoze Matroze. Recently we also perform as a duo. Modern nautical music with Dutch lyrics about ports, drinks and ladies of pleasure. In short, life seen through the eyes of real sailors.
In recent years the style of music has come to resemble world music the most. Influences from Ireland, the Balkan, but also from Suriname and North Africa and even the wooden shoe dance can be found in the repertoire. But because of the lyrics it all remains very Dutch. The raw marine life, as a metaphor for freedom and loneliness, adventure and the power of nature, can be heard in all the lyrics. Together they form an extremely attractive performance that is very suitable for music festivals, harbour events, markets, etc.
