How nice that you are interested in me as a singer! I've been singing since I was little and it's only been really nice since I finished the kleinkunstacademie in 2004 and then went on tour a lot with my solo performances (music theater). With great pleasure and love for music, language, stories, mostly inspired by love, I often sing unknown and well-known songs in a new guise. It swings, it touches, and hopefully puts a smile on your face. In short; I love to sing and to perform, to connect with others and to enjoy. From an intimate dinner or birthday to a wedding or large corporate event, nothing is too crazy. With a small or large ensemble.

Emmelie is a versatile singer. She sings many different styles; blues, soul, ballads, jazz and pop. Also classical with feeling and with humor, (if desired) completed with short stories in between
Because of her bilingualism she sings mostly in English, but also in Dutch, sometimes French, Yiddish and a little Russian (on request). She also re-translates songs. Think for example of "Jolene" (Dolly Parton) in Dutch or "Dance me to the end of love" (Leonhard Cohen) in NL's

More background:
Musically, no style is too crazy for me, but I feel most at home in Blues, Jazz, Soul and have a penchant for ballads. I love to sing in English and Dutch and have also sung in French, Yiddish and Russian. For my five solo performances I have worked and played with different musicians (pianists: Alberto Klein Goldewijk, Ed Boekee, Rob Stoop, Nettie Krull and Nicolaas Duin, cellist: Jonas Pap, guitarists: Robin Scherpen, Vincent Pino and others, trumpet player: Gerben Klein Willink, and double bass player: Jet Stevens)

In 2013, my album Blood Link was released. About the search for my Jewish-Russian roots. An album full of Dutch and international influences, on which I sing my own and existing work in multiple languages. Between 2014 and 2016 I made a series of living room concerts with old soul and blues accompanied by guitar and trumpet. In the meantime I have built a broad and rich repertoire and often choose songs that are a bit more unknown, but better known songs are certainly also on my repertoire. Singing for me is the ultimate way to connect with people and to experience emotion and joy together!
