In the 80's Justine Pelmelay sings in several bands. For example, she sings the famous song "Zandvoort by the Sea" with the Pasadena Dream Band and sings in Swinging Soul Machine and The Jody Singers. She is also a background singer for many artists on their singles or albums.
In 1988 she sings in Gerard Joling's background choir and thus tastes the atmosphere of the Eurovision Song Contest for the first time. A year later it was her time to shine and Justine entered the National Song Contest with the song "Stay As You Vent". This earned her the most points and allowed her to advance to the Eurovision Song Contest. Unfortunately, due to an impure note, Pelemelay finished in fifteenth place.
In the 1990s, Justine sang with television chef Lonny Gerungan as the duo Justine & Marlon. They released three successful albums, all of which received a listing in the Album Top 20. In the albums, the duo performs Indian songs, taking Justine back to her Indian roots. In the following years, Justine released several more singles, such as "The Man I Love," "Hold Me," and "A Friend Doesn't Leave You In The Stitch."
In 2005, Justine once again competes in the Song Contest with the song "What You See Is What Wou Get." However, it does not get her through the preliminaries. The following year she records a new solo single: "Nothing's Gonna Shut Me Up. In 2007, Justine can be seen in the theater show "The Soul of Motown. During the closing of the show at the RAI in Amsterdam, The Three Degrees, The Supremes and Jocelyn Brown perform as guest artists.
In 2011, Justine released the singles 'World Without Love' and 'De Regen Voorbij'. She can also be heard the following year on the new single 'I'll Never Let You Go Again' which was heard on radio and TV. In 2012, Justine was aboard the Costa Concordia cruise boat that capsized off the Italian coast. In response to this event, she and her partner wrote the song "Time stood still.
In response to her illness, she wrote the song 'Do what you have to do' in 2013. A new album by Justine is also expected, which will include several self-written songs. In addition to numerous performances as a singer, Justine is also a presenter on television and corporate events and can be heard in radio commercials.
