In January 2019 it was announced that De Moor, now world-famous under the name Duncan Laurence, would participate in the Eurovision Song Contest 2019 on behalf of the Netherlands. He had been nominated to the selection committee by Ilse DeLange, with the song Arcade, written and composed by himself, with whom he had kept in touch after his participation in The Voice of Holland. On 7 March, Arcade was presented in the television programme De Wereld Draait Door. Although there was initially some criticism that the selection committee sent a relatively unknown singer to the song festival, this soon became apparent when it turned out that he was a bookie's favourite for victory.

On 19 May 2019 Laurence won the Eurovision Song Contest in Tel Aviv. From the professional jury he got the third place, in the votes of the televoting he came second, enough to win the song contest for Italy (second) and Russia (third). The song was streamed more than 1.24 million times in the Netherlands the Sunday after his win. With this he broke the Dutch Spotify-record by being streamed the most within 24 hours. Laurence became the fifth Dutch winner of the Eurovision Song Contest. It was the first time since 1975 that the Netherlands won again.
