Background information:
Monique Klemann has been an integral part of the Dutch music scene since the late 1980s. With her band Lois Lane, founded in 1984, she scored hit after hit, platinum albums and toured Europe with none other than Prince. That Monique is a versatile artist is evident from her diverse oeuvre. While the music of Lois Lane falls mainly under the pop genre, her successful first solo album 'On Patrol' (2007) has a jazzy atmosphere and her second solo album 'Coool' (2016) a more sensual and groovy sound. Her new album 'Lovers in Motion' will be released in the spring of 2020 and is a combination of pop and soul, influenced by jazz. That this formula works is shown by the fact that her single I'm Not In Love (2019) reached more than 900,000 streams on Spotify.

"With my solo work I'm freer to be intuitive and combine my sound with not only different genres, but I also enjoy combining melodies and lyrics from the fifties to the present", says the singer herself.
Several musical excursions after her second solo album showed that Monique's versatility is boundless. For example, she participated in the program Best Singers of the Netherlands, where she made a name for herself with the Dutch songs 'Ik heb je lief' (I love you) and 'May I stay with you forever', which are still listened to a lot on Spotify
