Giedrė Mundinaitė-Leenholders is a young Lithuanian who discovered love for the violin when she was only 6 years old. Coming from a family with an engineer father and a mother who is a figure skater, she never gave up her passion for music. In 1991 Giedrė started studying at the gymnasium for music in Kaunas (Lithuania) with violin as her main subject and in 2003 she continued at the Lithuanian Academy for Music and Theatre, where she graduated with the highest grades. As the best student in her department, Giedrė was offered a scholarship to further develop her knowledge and skills beyond the country's borders. This brought her to the Netherlands in 2005 where she studied at the Maastricht
Academy of Music. Here she obtained bachelor's and master's degrees in both violin playing and teaching.
Throughout her career Giedrė has become a finalist and winner of national and international competitions, playing solo recitals and chamber music concerts in various countries. She was privileged to play in the well-known venues such as the Berlin Philharmonic and the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam. Giedrė played as a soloist with orchestras and as a member of various orchestras for various famous people and royalties such as our own King Willem Alexander and Queen Maxima at the inauguration concert in 2013 in Amsterdam.
During her bachelor studies in Lithuania (2003-2006) Giedrė worked as 1st violinist with the Kaunas Symphony Orchestra. In 2010 she started with the world famous violinist André Rieu and his Johann Strauss Orchestra and toured all over the world.
Giedrė has taken master classes and lessons from several well-known violinists such as Emmanuel Hurvitz (England), Pavel Berman (Italy), Robert Szreder (Netherlands), Petru Munteanu (Germany), Jindrich Pazdera (Czech Republic), Sergey Kravchenko (Moscow), Yair Kless (Israel), Adam Kostecki (Germany) and Herman Krebbers (Netherlands).

November 2020,
Giedre played 3 songs at my mother's funeral. Beautifully atmospheric violin playing. Thanks to Giedre also found very suitable pieces which lend themselves well for playing by 1 violin. A perfect frame.

During my mother's funeral, Giedré played the violin beautifully with great feeling for the moment it took place. Everybody was sitting in church with goose bumps when she started playing. Very warm, very intimate, very atmospheric.
