Damla was 17 when she took a radio course through BNN University in addition to her high school education. A year after completing this, she started her communication studies at the University of Amsterdam. Her master's thesis, focused on "sustainability & leadership impact," was published in the International Communication Journal, while she herself was completing a TV training at the V-Academy at the time. After a brief stint at RTL, Damla left for the United States for a Post Master program at UC Berkeley in California. In Silicon Valley, her interest in e-commerce and the impact of media grew. Once back in the Netherlands, Damla worked for Wehkamp for five years. After this, she moved to Luxembourg to launch
Amazon.nl with her team, for which she has now worked for over three years (Head of Customer Experience). In recent years she developed a sharp focus, on her corporate career as well as the media world.
