Robbert has a very specific, nostalgic sound which can best be described with the words; soulful, bluezy and old school. With his intense style and powerful outbursts, at one moment he reminds one of singers like James Brown, Paul Rodgers, Otis Redding or Little Richard and at other moments, when he goes into storytelling mode, he can have the character of Bob Dylan, Ray Charles or Al green. Robbert is a passionate, purebred and educated musician and that radiates from all sides. His rhythmic, technical guitar play is fascinating to watch and usually gets the feet of his listeners moving very quickly. In addition, he is a jukebox of "golden oldies" with enough prepared repertoire to provide music for around 10 hours of fun and, if the audience helps out a bit, he will also play anything he has heard somewhere. He mixes many styles, from Motown, Boogiewoogie and old Jazz to Reggae, Folk and here and there even a modern pop song, but in general there is always that solid sound of the "good old days" that you clearly have to choose when you go with this singer.
