Floris, the youngest miller's son, inherits Roemer the male who turns out to be very clever. Roemer promises to turn his master, in exchange for a nice suit and a pair of boots, quickly into a rich man. Finally, without knowing it, the highwayman Leffert, the dragonflies Lila and Bella and the giant Bombari work on Floris marrying the faithful princess Brinta and coming to live in the giant's castle.
