Andre Heuvelman connects people with music, each other and himself. His trumpet is just the means to that end. His message is simple: "What quality of yourself can you always rely on, what is your trumpet? Andre is a performer, inspirer, creative advisor and innovator. He is also a keynote speaker (watch his keynote performance), in which connection, resilience, passion and perseverance are key words to move, connect and inspire.

As a small child Andre Heuvelman (1966) already had a great love for making music. By coincidence the trumpet came his way, only because of his handicap (a too short forearm and a limp wrist) this instrument was a great challenge. Because of his down-to-earth approach to go for what he wanted to achieve in music, Andre has a special life story to tell. That is why Andre is regularly asked as a key note speaker to move, connect and inspire audiences. With his beautiful music and infectious vulnerability and enthusiasm he tells his story and challenges his audience to dare to stand on their own stage.

Andre has been a trumpet player since 1990 and solo trumpeter since 1997 with the Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra, a modern orchestra with strong roots in the tradition of classical music and the temperament of its home port of Rotterdam. The orchestra plays at home and abroad and is famous for its classical music that is combined with disciplines such as visual arts, film or dance. Both established names and young talent find a stage with the orchestra and these aspects make it a perfect match for Andre.

Andre thinks there is more to it than playing the notes as a trumpet player: infinite curiosity and drive to communicate are prerequisites for a performance on any stage. As a trumpet player he has an unstoppable energy and is the creator of many concepts to bring people and musicians together and get them moving. Andre is a trumpet player whose mission is to bring people to themselves and thereby create shared value.

Andre was a solo trumpet player with the Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra, but was also for many years a member of the Netherlands Wind Ensemble, which is known to the general public from the New Year's concerts that are broadcast on television every year by VARA. His solo in the piece "Beirut" by Ibrahim Maalouf has been widely viewed on Youtube. Andre regularly gives masterclasses and he teaches at the Rotterdam conservatoire Codarts. Together with the four other best trumpet players of the Netherlands from jazz, pop and classical music Andre has founded Trumpets of Orange. These 5 trumpet players regularly perform in the country, invariably taking the proverbial roof off.
