Esther Pierweijer brengt een klassiek concert voor groot of klein publiek. Samen met haar pianist, combo of klein orkest brengt deze mezzo sopraan toegankelijke stukken van o.a. Wagner, Bach, Schubert of Mozart. Dit kan in overleg uitgebreid worden met meerdere zangers of zangeressen.

Dutch mezzo-soprano Esther Pierweijer graduated with distinction from the Conservatory of Music in Enschede, Rotterdam (Netherlands) and Cologne (Germany) with a bachelor’s and master’s degree. She was coached by Anne Haenen and the famous mezzo-soprano Jard van Nes. Currently she is coached by Sasja Hunnego and Matthias Goerne.

She won prizes during several competitions, including a first prize at the competition for Young Dutch Music Talents , Euregion Vocalists Competition and a second prize at the competition for Modern Music in Weimar, Germany.

She sang in several operas and operettas such as Carmen (in concert) Porgy and Bess (in concert), Orfeo and Euridice, Suor Angelica and worked with directors such as Jaap van Zweden, Kenneth Montgomery, Alexander Vakoulsky, Nicolai Alexeev and Jiggs Whigham. She regularly performs as a soloist in concerts, oratorios and chamber music with renowned Dutch orchestras and ensembles such as The Netherlands Symphonic Orchestra, Het Orkest van het Oosten, The Metropole Orchestra, New Amsterdam Orchestra and was also a guest soloist with the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra.

In 2011 the Dutch Wagner Association rewarded her with the Wagner Stipendium which made her a special guest at the Bayreuth Festival in Germany. From thereon she performed the works of Wagner, Mahler and Strauss (a.o.) throughout the Netherlands with her pianist.

She is a much sought-after recitalist as much in The Netherlands as abroad. Her repertoire and performances are very versatile. It holds very early composers as well as composers from the late 20th century.
