Singer / gitarist that brings you authentic acoustic blues and country music, played by a 71 year old black american from the southern United States. "The real thing!" Originele songs maar ook covers van bijvoorbeeld John Lee Hooker, Muddy Waters, Howling Wolf, Robert Johnson en natuurlijk Jimmy Hendrix behoren tot zijn grote reportoire, wat overigens ook soul en funk omvat.
Zoals zoveel grote namen is Niki begonnen in de kerk in Louisville, Kentucky. In eerste instantie als drummer, later heeft hij zich ontwikkeld tot gitarist. Met zijn bands Vendetta en M-80 heeft hij in de jaren 80 grote podia bespeeld.
Nu doet hij doet solo optredens, zeer geschikt voor kleine, intieme bijeenkomsten, maar met band speelt hij makkelijk een groter
evenement plat.

We really enjoyed Niki's performance. As a surprise for my husband's birthday, his blues & americano music and voice added to the party in a very unique way. The contact with Karin and Niki is super nice and fast. They were also very flexible when I wanted to change the time! Highly recommended!!!

The Niki Buzz Trio fully lived up to our expectations at Oranjepop Dirksland! From the first chord, they played at a level you rarely see. Niki Buzz proved why he has been a fixture on stage for over sixty years. At 71, he still plays with incredible energy and visible joy. His guitar playing is blazing, his voice raw and powerful - pure craftsmanship. In short: for fans, they brought a show that stood like a house. The high level, unparalleled musicality and experience dripped off. Our advice: just book them - you certainly won't regret it!

In the early 1980s he and his band Vendetta played with groups like Foreigner and Joan Jet. At tonight's performance at 't Praethuys, he starts with that too, but soon more familiar songs prove to be the most successful. So it will be a smashing evening with Niki Buzz and the Midnight Blues Express (Cees Slats on guitar, Wil Slats on drums and Rob van Mook on bass). A fine Creedence medley, a beautiful version of For What It's Worth and a sensitive The thrill is gone by BB King to name but a few make this performance one big party, definitely a highlight of the Leiden Blues and Jazz Week!
