Dit verhaal laat je denken over heel veel aspecten in je leven waarmee je zit en ook dat er na tegenslagen nog altijd hoop is.. Mijn act is dusdanig inspirerend dat, als je het bijwoont, je een verhaal hoort wat je niet eerder hebt gehoord en waarvan je het bestaan ook niet wist . De opbrengsten zullen gaan naar de ANBI stichting: Hulpplus die als doelstelling zwakkeren in de maatschappij ondersteun.
In de duisternis van mijn verleden ontdekte ik het licht van transformatie. Mijn levensverhaal is een unieke reis die je doet reflecteren op de diepere betekenissen van het bestaan. Hoewel ik ooit verstrikt was in de schaduwen van mijn fouten, heb ik geleerd dat het leven geen vaststaand script heeft.
Mijn inspirerende act is een uitnodiging om te geloven in de kracht van hoop, zelfs te midden van tegenslagen. Als je mijn verhaal hoort, betreed je een onbekende wereld vol mogelijkheden. Het toont dat achter elke blokkade een pad naar groei schuilt.
Geworteld in mijn eigen ervaringen deel ik niet alleen mijn verhaal, maar bied ik ook handvatten aan het publiek. Mijn act is een bron van kracht die je kunt
integreren in je eigen leven. Het is alsof ik je meeneem op een onvergetelijke reis – een "Hell of a Ride."
Welkom in mijn wereld, waar eens duisternis heerste. Mijn verleden bracht me in aanraking met politie, justitie en gevangenismuren. Maar temidden van mijn neerwaartse spiraal ontdekte ik een spirituele weg naar zelfontdekking.
Mijn zoektocht naar antwoorden over mijn ware zelf en het doel van mijn bestaan leidde me naar diepere wijsheden. Op het podium creëer ik een spiegel voor het publiek, een reflectie die hen aanzet tot zelfonderzoek. Welke aspecten van hun leven kunnen rechtgezet worden? Waar liggen de sleutels tot een betere versie van henzelf?
Mijn leven is een bewijs van transformatie. Van delinquent naar schrijver, mijn roeping ligt nu in het spiritueel bijstaan van anderen. Hoewel er nog veel werk te verrichten is, geloof ik dat onze wereld onze inspanningen nodig heeft. Laat mijn verhaal een vonk zijn die de zoektocht naar innerlijke groei en betekenis in gang zet.

As part of the social studies subject in March 2019, I have invited Mikel Dees as a guest speaker for the topic Rule of Law. With his story about his personal life, Mikel Dees knows how to encourage children to think about their role in society. His pedagogy is excellent. He gives children a compass by which they will come to more fruitful choices at their important intersections than his own. Children will not always remember exactly what you tell them, but they will always remember the impression and how they were treated. Of this he is aware and this is what he knows how to realize positively and he does this with a loving heart. A heart that wants to help. At the same time, he exudes a natural authority. For he knows that his story can serve as a life lesson for young children, and can effortlessly win over the "most difficult" classes. I therefore warmly recommend his guest lectures to schools for subjects with the function of citizenship education

For several years now I have invited Mikel Dees to come and tell about his life in my 3Mavo classes as part of the social studies subject. And, as an illustration, every year the new students of 3Mavo ask at the beginning of the year "if that guy is coming to tell the story again." This shows that Mikel's guest lectures now have a place within the subject and trickle down to other layers of learning. And this, of course, is not without reason. Mikel shows how seemingly small choices can lead to very unpleasant consequences. He also shows how you are not born a criminal, but through all kinds of circumstances 'roll into' something. He combines all this with a warm and sincere charisma, letting the students share amply in his life and sharing the life lessons drawn from it with them in an almost spiritual way. Mikel tells a fierce, and at times sad, story. Yet he manages to leave the students with a message of hope and positivity, and encouragement to do the right thing in their lives. Highly recommended!

Mikel gave a very strong education at the bajesdag Veenhuizen Saturday, June 15. Since I have always had a fascination with this kind of thing, I attended this one as well. That fascination is not about the acts that may have been committed but how they came about. How does the human brain work, how does it communicate with your body and what drives you to perform certain actions? Through Mikel, I was able to get answers to all the questions, although of course it is different for everyone. His story resonated with me tremendously. And where I am normally very tough, his words hit me like a comet hitting!
