Maurice de Hond is een in Amsterdam geboren Nederlandse opiniepeiler en ondernemer, die het grootste deel van zijn leven in de hoofdstad heeft gewoond. Hij heeft een avontuurlijke ondernemersgeest en heeft grote projecten ondersteund of geleid bij verschillende bedrijven.
Vanaf 1969 begon Maurice te werken als kandidaat assistent bij het Sociaal Geografisch Instituut van de Universiteit van Amsterdam en werd wetenschappelijk medewerker bij het SGI na zijn afstuderen in 1971, waar hij werkte tot 1973. In 1975 richtte hij samen met Hedy d'Ancona het bedrijf Cebeon b.v. op, dat zich toelegde op onderzoek en advies in de non-profit sector. Hij bleef hier actief tot 1980.
In de aanloop naar de Tweede Kamerverkiezingen van 1977 begon De Hond bij het programma "In
de Rooie Haan" een speciaal model te gebruiken dat was gebaseerd op materiaal van het NIPO, waarmee de politieke voorkeuren van Nederlanders nauwkeuriger konden worden ingeschat. Tegenwoordig wordt Maurice de Hond beschouwd als een autoriteit op het gebied van opiniepeilingen.

I really liked Maurice de Hond's presentation at the WTG congress on AI in Technical Wholesale. He gave a very clear entry into the world of AI and how to start using it as a company. Maurice explained a difficult subject very well. His breakout session was also very interesting with lots of practical examples and plenty of room for questions. Maurice has so much experience and so much knowledge about these kinds of topics. In short, Maurice is really a must have for such a meeting, both as a speaker and giving a workshop.
