Met dit kwartet boekt u gegarandeerd een dynamisch, vrolijk en swingend optreden.
Het publiek wordt meegenomen naar de sfeer van het bruisende New Orleans uit de jaren dertig, met bekende klassiekers uit die tijd. Het kwartet speelt op saxofoon, trompet, gitaar en contrabas en brengt repertoire van onder anderen Louis Armstrong, Benny Goodman en Duke Ellington.
Wat deze band extra bijzonder maakt, is dat er ook gezongen wordt: zowel de gitarist als de contrabassist verzorgen de zang. Vaak tweestemmig brengen zij nummers die bekend zijn van Billie Holiday, Cab Calloway en Ella Fitzgerald, zoals *Puttin’ on the Ritz*, *Happy Feet*, *Exactly Like You*, *It Don’t Mean a Thing*, *Take the A Train* en *Saint Louis Blues*.
Stil blijven zitten is eigenlijk geen optie bij de aanstekelijke live muziek van dit kwartet. De musici beheersen de stijl tot in de finesse en zorgen voor een energieke en authentieke beleving.
Onze optredens duren doorgaans ruim tweeënhalf uur (bijvoorbeeld bij recepties en festivals), verdeeld over drie sets van 35 minuten. Uiteraard is dit in overleg aan te passen.
Wij nemen onze eigen professionele geluidsset mee; dit is inbegrepen in de prijs.
Dankzij compacte apparatuur en mobiele accu’s kunnen wij ons eenvoudig verplaatsen tussen bijvoorbeeld winkelend publiek, op markten of andere locaties.
Sinds 2018 speelt dit kwartet als huisband van café In ’t Aepjen, gelegen op de Zeedijk in het hart van Amsterdam.
En jaarlijks is de band te horen tijdens het Red
Light Jazz Festival op de Zeedijk in Amsterdam.
