Helen Music is in alle bezettingen te boeken van duo, trio, kwartet en kwintet en speelt niet alleen jazz maar ook (hedendaagse) pop, soul en latinnummers in een ‘jazz-jasje’ gestoken.
Het geluidsvolume is zodanig aangepast dat u en uw gasten met elkaar kunnen praten. En dit helemaal LIVE, met een aangename eigen sound!
Een stijlvolle coverband met getalenteerde en professionele musici:. Uli (contrabas), Mark (gitaar), Jan (drums), Anne-Marie (trompet) en Helen (zang). Het repertoire is gevarieerd: jazzy, latin, pop & soul. We spelen zowel achtergrondmuziek voor ontvangsten als een swingend feest! Ideaal voor recepties en bedrijfsfeesten maar ook voor privéfeesten op locatie of bij u thuis.
Helen, zangeres en bandleider van Helen Music, zingt vanaf haar jeugd en is een bekend gezicht op vele podia en in verschillende muziekstudio’s. Haar warme en krachtige stem en dito uitstraling vormen de basis voor een daverend optreden. Zij zingt moeiteloos de meest uiteenlopende stijlen, van jazz standards tot soul en dance-classics en is gewend te switchen van easy-listening naar up tempo nummers.
Mark is afgestudeerd aan het
conservatorium in Zwolle, met als hoofdvak gitaar jazz/lichte muziek en daarnaast heeft hij een aantal jaren hoofdvak Trombone gestudeerd op het conservatorium te Zwolle. Hij heeft in verschillende (show)orkesten en Big Bands gespeeld o.a. First Showband en Maxim, waarbij hij vele artiesten begeleidde o.a. René Froger, Lee Towers, Gerard Joling, Frans Bauer en André Hazes.
Uli kwam via de cello terecht bij de basgitaar en de contrabas. Hij studeerde basgitaar aan de “Bass School Munich”, een opleiding voor studiomusici in München. Hij specialiseerde zich verder op contrabas en basgitaar lichte muziek op het Conservatorium in Enschede bij o.a. Ruud Ouwehand, Wilton Jongmans, Wilbrand Meischke en Davy de Wit. In 2003 is hij als bassist 'cum laude' afgestudeerd en speelt 100 concerten per jaar van jazz en bigband tot rock en Balkan Muziek.
Jan ter Maat jr. is op zijn 15de met zijn drummers loopbaan begonnen. Vanaf dat moment begon hij te spelen in verschillende bands en formaties. De muziekstijlen lopen uiteen van jazz- pop- latin- tot klassiek en natuurlijk de huidige, commerciële muziekstroom. Het lesgeven is een grote passie van Jan, daarom heeft hij in Hengelo zijn eigen drumschool. De drumschool bestaat al sinds 1977 en heeft een groot aantal leerlingen afgeleverd die hun weg in de hedendaagse muziek hebben gevonden. Jan heeft naast veel zelfstudie onder andere gestudeerd aan het conservatorium in Enschede.
Anne-Marie ten Heggeler is trompettist, bandleider en docent. Ze studeerde jazz & pop trompet aan het ArtEZ conservatorium Enschede bij Jan Wessels en haar master aan het Koninklijk conservatorium Antwerpen bij Nico Schepers en Bert Joris. Als trompettist speelt ze bij het Millenium Jazz Orchestra, Dutch Concert Big Band en JazzArt Orchestra. Wekelijks geeft ze les aan trompetleerlingen en twee bigbands.

Saturday June 11th we celebrated our lustrum party at estate Anckerwaerdt in Culemborg. This became a great party thanks to the fantastic professionals who deserve to be 'discovered' by a wide audience. While we were being welcomed outside they were already playing, with visible pleasure, and lured us inside, after which the dance night started right away. The way they guided the evening with their music, built it up and got everyone on the dancefloor, deserves a big applause and that's what they got.
