Het in Nederland gevestigde Bering Trio bestaat uit Canadese violist Paul Medeiros, Amerikaanse altviolist/violist Ian de Jong en Letse celliste Aleksandra Kaspera. Een hecht vriendschap gebaseerd op een gezamenlijke liefde voor kamermuziek brengt deze musici bij elkaar. Het Bering Trio is verankerd in de traditie van het strijktrio (viool-altviool-cello, of twee violen en cello), een bezetting die populair werd in adellijke kringen halverwege de 19e eeuw en waar vaak voor geschreven werd door componisten als Haydn, Boccherini en Beethoven.
Berings flexibiliteit en gretigheid biedt een wereld aan mogelijkheden voor zowel musici als programmeur. De groep is onder meer inzetbaar als strijkkwartet, accordeonkwartet en pianokwartet. In zijn korte bestaan heeft het Bering Trio, naast het geven van concerten, ook klassieke
en lichte muziek opgenomen in professionele studio's. Het ensemble is beschikbaar voor diverse soorten optredens en evenementen. De musici geloven in een frisse kijk op traditionele klassieke muziek en in het experimenteren met ongebruikelijke ensembles en cross-genre innovatie.

Ian de Jong provided a beautiful serenade with the violin for my mother-in-law's 81st birthday. His performance of the Hungarian piece of music was both breathtaking and moving and brought a special atmosphere to the celebration. The birthday girl was deeply impressed by his talent. An unforgettable addition to a special day. Ian is nice to work with. He thinks along with the client and keeps appointments. A topper!

Ian was very friendly, he was also happy to do the gig again. Nice classical songs with some recognition, and with tango ending on a happy note. The room was a bit too small so it sounded quite loud, but he couldn't help that of course.
