Mijn liefde voor typische Braziliaans folklorish ritmes bracht mij in 1981 op het International Folklorish Festival in Krems, Oostenrijk, als muzikant van BANZÉ, een bekende folklorische dansgroep uit Montes Claros, mijn geboorteplaats, in de achterlanden van Minas Gerais, Brazilie.

In 1993 bracht ik in Nederland mijn 1e CD "INSPIRAL" uit. Opgenomen in Rio de Janeiro met muzikanten als bassist/componist Iury Poppof en percussionist Marcos Suzano.

Een tournee door Nederland, bracht mij op verschillende nederlandse podia en festivals zoals: Dunnya Festival, Breda Jazz Festival, Rainbow Festival Dordrecht, etc. Op jazz podium: BIMHUIS in Amsterdam, Jazz Cafe Dizzy, Doelen , Bird, waar het publiek genoot van mijn typish brazilianse ritmes als Bossa Nova, Sambas, Baioes, Frevo e Maracatus.

Marcelo Godoy is an excellent guitarist and singer, known for his captivating interpretations of bossa nova, samba, MPB (Brazilian Popular Music) and choro.
With a career dedicated to promoting the rich diversity of brazilian music, Marcelo has stood out for his ability to transport the listener to the landscapes of Brazil.

Resident in Rotterdam, Marcelo has performed on various stages and cultural events, always bringing with him the energy and joy of brazilian music.
