John de Winter is een poppenspeler in hart en nieren. Met kleurrijke poppen en korte spanningsbogen zijn de verhalen geschikt voor jong en oud. Eigentijdse karakters doorspekken de voorstellingen met de nodige humor en puntige dialogen. Met de poppenkast speelt hij 2 x 30 minuten of 4 x 30 minuten per dag. De poppenkast is geschikt voor binnen en buiten op : festivals, feesten, braderie, jaarmarkten etc.
Al decennialang speelt John onder Theater de Winter in theaters, schouwburgen en scholen door heel NL en Vlaanderen. In de zomer speelt hij poppenkast voor het winkelend publiek in hartje centrum van Rotterdam. Daar is hij een graag geziene speler met zijn hoofdpersoon Basje. Geschikt voor kinderen en volwassenen.
Hij speelt binnen maar bij droog weer ook in de openlucht. Hij kreeg mooie recensies in de landelijke pers. Ook werkte hij voor TV in : Koekeloere en Benjamin Ben. Tevens is hij stemacteur en spreekt hij tekenfilms in. Jarenlang was hij de stem van Knorretje in Winnie de Poeh.

We got to know Puppet Theatre John de Winter for the first time during the Brandersfeesten Schiedam 2024. He performed two shows on both Saturday and Sunday at our children's area. Despite the rainy weather, his shows immediately attracted both young and old – and many came back for the next performance. In our eyes, a great success, mainly thanks to John's enthusiasm and the quality of his shows. There was humor for both children and adults, and at times it was even a little exciting. Because the collaboration went very smoothly and the shows were well received by the audience, we’ve invited John back for King’s Day 2025 and the Brandersfeesten 2025. We are very satisfied – and so was the audience in Schiedam! (via E-mail)
