Duo DUBRA is a musical project that explores the richness and diversity of Brazilian music, with a focus on genres such as samba, choro, bossa nova, and MPB (Popular Brazilian Music). The name “DUBRA” combines “duo” and “Brasil,” reflecting their shared passion for Brazil’s musical traditions.
Formed by Maria Leonor (vocals, flute, and pandeiro) and Pau Mas (guitar and vocals), the duo’s sound moves between the roots of Pixinguinha and the subtlety of João Gilberto, passing through the vibrant voices of Maria Rita and Djavan.
Through original arrangements and sensitive interpretations, Duo DUBRA seeks to share with the audience the lightness, energy, and joy that are so characteristic of Brazilian music. Together they can create either an intimate, acoustic atmosphere with
just voice (or flute) and guitar, or deliver the energy of a small band.
With a warm, relaxed, and inviting stage presence, Duo DUBRA offers more than a performance — they provide the audience with a musical experience that reflects their deep passion for music that brought them together in the Netherlands.
