gecombineerd met syringomyelie – een buisvorming in het ruggenmerg. Slechts 10 % van
zijn lichaam functioneert nog, en dagelijks worstelt hij met intense pijn en een indrukwekkend
medicatie-regime van 37 pillen per dag. Ondanks deze realiteit, kiest hij ervoor om te vieren:
ieder jaar opnieuw viert hij “Lang zal ze laesie”.
Hij ontmoet de liefde van zijn leven, krijgt drie
dochters, start 3 bedrijven, schrijft 6 boeken en hervindt zijn levensmissie: anderen
inspireren en helpen met veerkracht. Niek vertelt niet over veerkracht, hij leeft het.
