Hallo, ik ben Dirk-Jan oftewel Dear John, een singer-songwriter uit Alkmaar met een passie voor het vertellen van verhalen door muziek. Met mijn akoestische gitaar en stem breng ik een intieme, ontspannen sfeer die perfect past bij bruiloften, verjaardagen, privéfeesten of huiskamers.
Mijn repertoire bestaat uit een mix van mijn eigen liedjes – hoopvol en uplifting – aangevuld met covers van mijn muzikale helden zoals Jack Johnson, Jason Mraz en Amos Lee. Alles wat ik nodig heb, is mijn stem en een akoestische gitaar. Versterking nodig? Geen probleem – ik neem eenvoudig mijn eigen techniek mee, geschikt tot zo’n 100 man. Maar net zo lief speel ik onversterkt, als dat beter past bij het moment. Dankzij deze minimale setup ben ik heel flexibel.

OVER DEAR JOHN
Mijn muzikale reis begon als zanger in een band, daarna vond ik mijn eigen stem als soloartiest. Een aantal jaren trad ik samen op met mijn beste vriend Ruud Bos, een fantastische gitarist die met zijn virtuositeit een extra dimensie gaf aan mijn muziek. Nu sta ik weer solo op het podium, met al die rijke ervaringen in mijn rugzak. Of je ons eerder als duo hebt gehoord of mij nu voor het eerst ontdekt: mijn optredens blijven even warm, persoonlijk en sfeervol.
Mijn muziek raakt mensen; het zijn nummers die je laten glimlachen, je hart verwarmen en een blijvende indruk achterlaten. Of je nu op zoek bent naar een sfeervol achtergrondgeluid of een optreden dat echt de aandacht pakt, ik stem mijn performance volledig af op jouw wensen.

The guys from Dear John were truly the Christmas on the cake at our wedding. They played 3 fantastic songs during our ceremony and then the most beautiful songs throughout our drinks. Besides being very good singers, they are very entertaining to have around. They mingle with the guests and you can see that they enjoy themselves as well Thanks guys! You exceeded our expectations (which were secretly already quite high). Unfortunately, we are not getting married again because we would have booked you again for sure ;-)

At our wedding, Dear John played in an indoor courtyard before and during the buffet. They fit perfectly into our festival setting and their beautiful songs were tremendously atmospheric! Dear John is absolutely top-notch and we can highly recommend them! At our wedding, they first played two songs during the ceremony that we had coordinated beforehand, where the guitar music and singing complemented the intimate atmosphere. Then they did a full set during the reception with a bit more upbeat songs which created a happy and summery atmosphere - a perfect bridge towards the party later on the day. And besides that Dirk-Jan and Ruud are very pleasant and relaxed and friendly guests! We had very good communication beforehand to discuss our wishes and also on the day itself they are very professional and flexible and feel exactly what is needed

We booked them at our wedding The guys were super friendly They played during our ceremony and during the drinks. The weather was beautiful so we could stand outside. Wishes we had we discussed with them by email. They complied with all of these. They also kept other appointments. The men are fantastic singers and give an intimate atmosphere to your wedding. We thought it was a really good addition to our day. We will recommend them to everyone. Not only from us they received compliments. But also our guests were very enthusiastic about them.
