The Dieter van der Westen band brings Grooving Americana and bluesy soul all from the hand of the Amsterdam based artist himself. After the well received albums Old Oak Tree (2016) Me and You (2018),and Honesty of The Hopeful the Dieter van der Westen band has developed into a solid, Americana, folk and Blues Soul act in the Dutch and Flemish live scene.

Dieter van der Westen brings Groovy American uptempo folk songs combined with folk-soul songs all from the hand of the Amsterdam based artist himself. After the well received debut album Old Oak Tree (2016) and the band album Me and You (2018), the Dieter van der Westen band has developed into a solid, versatile Americana, folk and alt-country act in the Dutch and Flemish live scene. In the lee of the corona period, Dieter recorded the acoustic duo album The Sun Will Rise Again together with his brother Eric van der Westen and their new band album Honesty of the Hopeful, which they presented in Paradiso Amsterdam in 2022. Lust for life magazine quoted: "12 catchy American-style songs with a positive undertone, but once again Dieter's lived-in voice is the strong asset."

The energy on stage and the shared love for authentic Americana, Folk and World gives the Dieter van der Westen Band its unique character.

In the Netherlands Dieter worked with BLØF, The Lau, Frank Boeijen, Paul de Leeuw, Gerard van Maasakkers and the Grammy-winning Metropool Orchestra. His brother Eric van der Westen is bass player and performed worldwide with artists like the Turkish superstar Sezen Aksu, with whom he played in Carnegie Hall and the Royal Albert Hall. Violinist Mirte de Graaff of the band played with Jasper Schalks, The Lasses and her own band Last Thursday. Guitarist Aron Raams is a musical icon who played with Candy Dulfer and Caro Emerald, among others, and is also the band leader of Gare du Nord. Gijs Anders van Straalen is a percussionist and drummer with well-known Dutch artists such as Wouter Hamel and Iris Hond. In the existing years of the band several artists joined the band in recording and live performances such as Joost Abbel, Ferdi Lancee, Abel de Vries and Leif de Leeuw.
