Have you always wanted to learn how to imitate a living statue? Then now you can follow a workshop that teaches you all about it. At a party or event, it's all possible with this interaction workshop.
Imagine this: you work at a school, playground operation, after-school program, business.... and would like to teach children/employees the principles of living statue for a change. We can provide that. And you know what the fun part is? We completely adapt our workshop to your needs!
We provide an interactive workshop where participants get lots of tips and facts, but also get to stand on a pedestal themselves. We bring a suitcase full of clothes and ideas, allowing the living statues to let their imagination run wild.
If desired, there will be a show moment where the living statues will perform in full display for the amazed audience. This workshop can be of very different forms, it can last a few
sessions, or it can last several hours or even less than an hour (a limited worshop to get a taste of being a living statue).
The duration of a workshop is chosen by mutual agreement.
We have different "types" of workshops, from very short (for markets etc., like "don't make me laugh") to long and intense.
The giver of this workshop also has a name and his name is Patrick van Horne. He is a teacher by training. That educational background makes it easy for him to stand in front of groups and animate them. Patrick has been doing animation since 2000, first as a clown, later on statues and walking acts were added. Patrick on his motivation:
"Acting and animating is in your blood, it always gives a kick to bring a successful act. I regularly try out new ideas, which is how the living statue came into being. That seems easy, but it's more subtle and measured work. You want to interact with your audience, so you have to feel it perfectly."
In 2012, Patrick decided to quit as clown Patje in order to put enough energy into his living statues and walking acts. Since then, Patrick has proven that he has earned his spurs. With the living statue of the textile tutor he won the Belgian championship in 2008 and became 2nd at the BeNeLux championship in Lommel the same year. The act 'I wood be (a statue)' also won prizes: in April 2014 Patrick won with this act the festival Borne op z'n Best (Nl.) as well as a third place at the living statue festival in Tegelen (Nl.). After that I Wood be a statue became first in Den Bosch, in Maastricht and Belgian champion living statue 2014. As icing on the cake, I Wood Be a Statue was allowed to walk away with a 2nd prize at Worldstatues 2014 in Arnhem.
In 2015 Patrick succeeded himself as Belgian champion with the act 'His past, mining past'. He was not only named the best Belgian statue, but also won the first prize of all participating statues.

Very nice to see Draggy the Dragon in Doetinchem. Patje interacts with the visitors and does so in a very fun way. Highly recommended!
