Eddy was born in Rotterdam and started his musical career at the age of 16. First as lead vocalist in various formations where he performed soul, blues, top 40 etc. He has performed with several great artists such as Anita Meyer, Lee Towers, Imca Marina, Donna Linton, Nico Haak, Guys and Dolls.
In 1996 Eddy started as a country singer/entertainer. He started under the name "LONGRIDER" with John de Mol Productions, then Endemol Entertainment and Chiel van Prague Intershow etc. For years he also had a country line-dance school, where he taught with great pleasure. During his performance the audience can also learn a country-line dance, when there is a need for it. Since 2005 he performs under the name 'Eddy Rooss'.
