When the children start singing the song 'Sinterklaasje kom maar binnen met je Piet' (St. Nicholas, come in with your Pete), someone completely different from St. Nicholas comes in. It is Tracking Pete, who is very desperately searching for Sinterklaas. Pete steps onto the stage and explains the situation. She tells that she would show Sinterklaas and the Hoofdpiet the way to the party, but that she had to go back to the Pietenhuis for a moment, because she forgot the peppernuts. She had told Sinterklaas and de Hoofdpiet that they had to wait for her. But Hoofdpiet was stubborn and said: 'You go and get your peppernuts, we'll walk further, I know the way as well'. Pete rushed very fast and came to the party quickly. She thought she would be too late, but as it turns out... now she is alone and Sinterklaas and Hoofdpiet are not there at all!

To drive away time, Pete starts playing games and singing songs, hoping that Sinterklaas and Hoofdpiet will come soon. Just when they are singing again, the bell rings. Pete opens the door and toilet-messenger Annie walks in. Pete knows that something is wrong, but what is going on?
