Our maculele show (pronounced: maakoeleelee) takes you into a great dance with wooden sticks to the rhythm of African-Brazilian percussion. With a performance of this Brazilian dance, everyone will be completely free! Book this act now via ShowBird.

The show will be performed by 2 to 4 people and will last approx. 15-20 minutes.

History: Originally this dance was practiced by the African slaves on the sugar cane plantations at the end of the harvest in Brazil. She initially performed the dance with machetes, but these were later replaced by sticks. The exhilarating African-Brazilian rhythm remained.

Extra: expandable with capoeira, live percussion, samba or a workshop

Maculele is a spectacular warrior-stick dance to the rhythm of Brazilian percussion instruments. It is an expression of the traditional Afro-Brazilian culture. With different attack and defense variations maculele guarantees spectacle. ! Capoeira and maculele are closely interwoven, for an extra dynamic show it is possible to book these two together. The maculele shows can also be extended with live percussion or samba for a total Brazilian experience.
