We are a quartet of experienced and (partly) professional musicians from Utrecht and in the 5 years of our existence we have played a lot and released a lot of music, resulting in good reactions.
We mainly play our own work, supplemented live with covers in the style 'soul/funk with a dirty blues rocky edge'. Performances are characterized by: energy, dancing, improvisation and contact.

The New Habit is back! With a new single/video "Head Above Water" the foursome show to be ready to storm the stage. Singer Jamie Hayes brings the much needed soul, guitarist Martijn van Leipsig takes care of the dirty blues rock solos and rhythm section Sanne Verbogt (bass) and Martijn Soeterbroek (drums) provide the danceable foundation of funk, rock and New Orleans groove.

With the release of "Head Above Water" and a big series of gigs, the band puts themselves back on the map, but in renewed form and with a fresh sound. The swinging grooves and musical quips have remained, but The "New" New Habit sounds tighter and more catchy than ever before. Stefan van Rijswijk (recording) and Antoine Pütz (mix/master) signed for the production. In the accompanying videoclip a look behind the scenes of the recording process of the single is given.

The New Habit was founded as a trio in 2011. In 2013 the well-received debut album 'Get Used To It' was released. Supported by the catchy single "Chicken" The New Habit played about 80 shows throughout the Netherlands in a short time. From the beginning of 2016 the band will make a restart in a new, four-piece line-up.
