I call myself flower queen, my real name is Shirley Bakkeren. This is super fun for the elderly. I am dressed in a beautiful dress and high wig, decorated with flowers. My company is called LeukAmusement and that is exactly what I bring. Especially aimed at the elderly with songs like: Crying is too late for you, a very special feeling inside, the little cafe at the harbour, there at the waterfront, etc.
The Flower Queen is also very suitable for children. Of course the program is tuned to them with songs like: in the moonshine, poesje mauw, tjoe tjoa wa, the kite member, mega mindy. And for older children: the snollebollekes. This is in front of the window,
but when the children are at a suitable distance outside, we can also play games like: laying down the handkerchief, the gipsy girl and jan huigen in the barrel.
Do you prefer young princesses like Sleeping Beauty, Snow White, Belle or Elsa? That's possible too! But always in cooperation with me as your guide.

Shirley is a real entertainer and that started at a young age. "I remember being about six years old and making hats out of newspapers. I went to the doors with them and sang the song 1-2-3-4-hat-of-paper. People liked that and laughed, often giving me a guilder or a cow bar. It wasn't until I was older that I really felt the entertainment flowing through my veins. I knew I had to do something with the gift of entertaining people and the interaction with the audience.
The love for music was already there, but only really surfaced around my 18th birthday. At that time I lived in America and sang with gospel choirs. We travelled all over the country with the gospel choir, which was a fantastic experience."
Back in the Netherlands, Shirley set up her company LeukAmusement in 2007. She developed her own characters and performances. The public embraced her. LeukAmusment has now been one of the trendsetters in the entertainment world for over 12 years and has grown into a one-stop shop.
Shirley is still happy every day that she can practice this profession: "I have the artistic freedom to use my talent to the full. Whether it's organising a company party or performing in a care centre, I become intensely happy when I see people enjoying themselves and hear them laughing."

Ik had Shirley geboekt op de 60ste verjaardag van mijn man. We hadden buiten in de tuin een feestje met zo'n 40/50 gasten, jong en ouder. Shirley kwam binnen en mengde zich onder de gasten en ging overal (genante) praatjes houden en deed zich voor als een oude vriendin van mijn man. Het was hilarisch! Mensen wisten niet hoe ze het ermee hadden. Ze kwamen aan mij vragen: wie die aparte dame was, waar ik haar van kende en dat ze niet bepaald verlegen was, haha! Dat hadden we zo afgesproken, mensen zouden moeten twijfelen of Shirley nou een heel vreemd mens was of dat het een act was. Daar is Shirley heel goed in geslaagd. Daarna bleef ze in haar rol en ging ze nog wat liedjes zingen voor mijn man. Er werd meteen gedanst en iedereen zong mee en ging los. En Shirley kan ook nog eens fantastisch zingen! Aan het einde van de act maakte ze zich bekend en er waren serieus mensen bij die het toen pas door hadden. Wat was dit leuk! We hebben er ontzettend van genoten en nog lang over door gepraat en gelachen. Ik raad haar echt aan voor ieder willekeurig feestje voor alle leeftijden want ze heeft nog veel meer leuke acts. Een bijzondere leuke toevoeging voor je feestje ze is ook precies lang genoeg gebleven. Bedankt Shirley je was super! ?

What an amazing anniversary celebration we had for our jubilarian! This was made possible by Shirley and Harry, because how good they were! As true spring queen and prince, they made it a true party together with our residents! Singing along with songs recognizable to everyone, dancing and swinging along. My father turned 70 and only 2 aunts with partner and a colleague were invited. My mother and my children were also there, a small group. I did wonder if it wasn't too small a group for an act, but I didn't worry about anything. What a party it turned out to be! People sang along (by the way, Shirley has a fantastic voice!), sang along, clapped and even did the polonaise! Shirley had written a whole script beforehand that fitted in with my father's life story. Everything fitted together perfectly. I would like to recommend her wholeheartedly!
