An eleven-piece band that pays tribute to the American 'grand lady of soul' Etta James, who died in 2012. That means a splashing, swinging show full of passion and fun!

In The Etta James Experience eleven experienced musicians have joined forces. Radiant centrepiece is the Arnhem singer Floor Kraayvanger, Dutch' own 'grand lady of soul, rock and rhythm & blues'.
Floor has been a huge fan of Etta James for years. Not only because of Etta's impressive voice, but above all because of her ability to excel in all kinds of styles. Just like Floor does.

The band consists of musicians who have already earned their spurs in the Dutch and international blues and soul scene. Driven by the enthusiasm and spirit of Floor, there's a driven and super motivated band. With two backing vocalists and a no less than four-man strong horn section, for the icing on the cake.

It swings like the famous train in the squatters Tell Mama, Something Gotta Hold On Me and I Just Want To Make Love To You. Or in fifties winning songs like Dance With Me Henry and Good Rocking Daddy. And there's time for dynamic breaks in Etta James standards like At Last, I've Been Loving You Too Long and I'd Rather Go Blind. Ballads in which Floor once again shows her class.

The band played at international festivals such as Blues In Hell (Norway) and Hondarribia Blues (Spain). And in 2019 again in Spain as final act at the Aste Nagusia in Bilbao and they were the fencer at the Fiesta de San Bartolomé in Elgoibar.
But they could also be seen at numerous festivals and in theatres in the Netherlands such as Breda Jazz, Jazz Comes To Town (Epe), the Liberation Festival Wageningen, Amphion (Doetinchem) and Luxor Live (Arnhem).
